Jade (Ann Wilson) voice is strong and arresting
She hits notes in a way unlike anyone else.
Her unflinching powerhouse vocals were unlike anything I’d ever heard. Jade’s connection with the audience was profound. She addressed the crowd with gratitude and her voice soared through Sharkeys with its signature power and emotive depth. Her performances of “Alone” and “What About Love,” performed in a combined arrangement that showcased the raw emotional power of her voice.
Robyn ( Nancy Wilson) guitar playing is as nimble and skilled as ever. Robyn’s rhythm guitar skills and vocals were evident all night, but she really shined when she recreated the opening acoustic strumming strings to “Crazy on you which sound like something straight out of a bordello and then led into a furious "Crazy on You" performance. A particularly poignant moment arrived when Robyn took the lead vocals for the 80’s chart-topping ballad “These Dreams.” her delicate vocals were a perfect complement to her powerful guitar work. Throughout the night, her masterful guitar playing was a constant highlight.
The band does not overpower Jade and Robyn, they provides a steady environment that allows them to scale the parameters of what they can accomplish. The band members proved to be more than capable of handling Heart’s demanding material, adding their energy and flair while remaining true to the spirit of the original recordings. This lethal lineup of players brought the heat again and again that included Heart’s quintessential ‘80s power ballads “Alone” and “What About Love?” and then created a whiplashing, snake-biting “Barracuda.”. The band, a tight and dynamic ensemble, locked into a powerful groove, providing the perfect foundation for Hearts music.
Sharkeys filled with fans spanning multiple generations, bore witness not just to a concert but to a narrative of perseverance and passion. MAGIC ANN’S performance was more than a trip down memory lane; it was a reaffirmation of the timeless power of music to heal, inspire, and unite.
As the final notes echoed through the walls of SHARKEYS , attendees at the MAGIC ANN show were left with a lasting impression of a band that, continues to embody the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll. MAGIC ANN triumphant show serves as a reminder that while time marches on, true music remains ageless.
MAGIC ANN is a force to be reckoned with. They have created a show that if you’re a Heart fan you will love it, and if your not you will be after hearing their show.
Forget classic rock radio. I’ll take a live MAGIC ANN show over singing along to Heart songs in my minivan any day
